Review: IDW TMNT #3

Issue #3 of the IDW TMNT comics came out months ago. Though I’ve been keeping up with reading the comics, I have fallen behind in reviewing them.  Really sorry about that.  I am going to work at catching up on doing some reviews starting with where I left off.  Going to be harder to keep my mind only on #3, since I have read all the way through issue #5.  Though this one is going to focus on only issue 3, not what we know is to come still.

Review: IDW TMNT #2

Issue #2 of the new IDW Comics has just been released. Last time we were left off was with Casey Jones being attacked by his drunk father.  Raphael jumps in to stop this attack, so that is where they pick up right away with the comic.  We get to see a fight between Casey’s father and Raphael.  The father does put up a good fight before getting thrown out of his own house and driving away.  Raphael and Casey now start to talk and make friends, once Casey asks where Raph is from it goes into another flashback of the lab where April O’Neil is working.

Review "Image TMNT #24"

In 2000, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came to it’s first real stand still where there was nothing new for the fans, as the bad news hit everyone the Image Comics were ending at issue #23.  At this time, Image was the only source of new stories for the Turtles, written by Gary Carlson, with artwork by Frank Fosco.  The comic sales were not as high as they needed them to keep going, but the story was so twisted, so fun that the fans did not want it to end.

Review IDW TMNT #1

August 2011 marked the beginning of a new TMNT comic book series.  A lot of hype has surrounded this comic release with Kevin Eastman back on the creative team of the Turtles, this is something we could all look forward to.  I know I have been excited ever since I heard Kevin’s name was attached to the comic.  It took me a few weeks to get the book, as the first store I checked was sold out and I didn’t know the area well enough to know of another store to go for the new comics.  After I finally went to one, I read it on the subway train ride to my next location.

TMNT IDW ASHCAN : Review

The story is by Kevin Eastman, something we didn’t expect to be seeing again with the Ninja Turtles.  Very exciting for all of us fans.  The script is writen by Tom Waltz with layouts by Kevin Eastman and the final artwork by Dan Duncan.  Ronda Pattison is the colorist.

Kung Fu Panda 2 : Movie Review

In 2008, the original Kung Fu Panda movie came to theaters.  When I saw the movie, I felt like something was missing from it, yet it was still somewhat enjoyable.  I did not see the movie again until recently when my nephews started to watch the movie. I did find it had that appeal that when the movie was on I would stop to watch it for a bit.

Kevin Eastman Back on Board!

When Ninja Turtles sold to Nickelodeon in October 2009 a lot talk went around as fears of the new directions Ninja Turtles would take.  Though the biggest fears was no longer seeing those names that we all know being tied into the TMNT.  The first sign of names coming back was last year when it was leaked that Rob Paulsen is returning as a voice for the new show, this time being Donatello.  Hope then came up when we learned of IDW picking up the Ninja Turtle Comic.  Though the biggest surprise came on May 19th, 2011 when "Comic Alliance" released an interview about the creative team b

Mirage: Goodbye Facebook

Since October 2009, when the news was released that Viacom bought the Turtles.  Fans have been watching more and more of the stuff we know of Mirage disappear.  With the official Turtle website now down for maintenance, the Mirage comics closing down, the few workers still with Mirage only being there a few days a week to handle the orders that come in for their back stock, and now a good bye on their Facebook page.  It’s hard to watch, though it’s not the end just the beginning of a new road.

IDW now behind TMNT Comics!

On April 1st, IDW Publishing announced that they have received the rights to publish new Ninja Turtle comics!  The curious thing I find about this is that they’re doing comics based on the ‘original’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as they keep bringing up Eastman and Laird in the press release.  So are their comics going to be based on the original Mirage story line or the original cartoon story line?
