The wait of a new TMNT Film

Movies are something that people put a lot of hope into.  This one thing that takes a lot of work and a lot of money, in the hopes of millions of people going to see.  They are one of the few joys that people still get excited about in these hard days of unemployment and depression.  Many big cities, like Detroit, are falling apart as businesses are closing down.  Yet if you go to a movie theater, no matter what city you’re in, there is always people there.  What makes movies so appealing?  Why will we line up to see films that last only 2 hours when we can watch a TV series that last so much longer, with more character growth, comedy and action?  Whatever the reason, it leaves people asking me all the time “When is the new Ninja Turtle movie coming out?”  “What do you think the new Ninja Turtle Movie will be about?”

Justice League: Doom DVD & Blu-Ray

There are so many cartoon franchises out there. Though, in my opinion, one of the best is those done by DC Comics, Bruce Timm, and Paul Dini.

"Hugo" DVD & Blu-Ray

A boy on his own, hiding, working and on a mission, Hugo Cabret lived in the walls of an old train station, setting the clocks everyday through the train station and living his own adventure as he is not paid and is alone in this world.

"Puss in Boots" DVD and Blu-Ray

The Shrek movies have always been something I have enjoyed.  So when I saw that there was a “Puss in Boots” film coming out, I knew I had to see it.  Though the film came out while I was going through a very big surgery, find out more about the surgery at RSD Update.  So there wasn’t a movie review posted here on Cowabunga Corner.  Though now that the movie is coming to DVD, I want to share some thoughts about this film.

The “Puss in Boots” film is about Puss on his own adventure, where we learn his history as he follows a dream from his childhood.  His old friend from growing up is Humpty Dumpty, who had betrayed Puss a long time ago and is now back in Puss’s life, saying he wants to make up from the past and has found the magic beans to get to the goose that lays the Golden eggs.  Intrigued by this, Puss teams up with Humpty and Soft Paws to get their hands on the Goose.

Movie Review: Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance

In 2007, Ghost Rider tarnished the movie screens with its poor acting, poor plot, and poor directing. Though it managed to make more than double it’s budget back in box office tickets, with over 50 million dollars made during the opening weekend. This was enough of a profit to justify a sequel.

TMNT Movie News: Looking into Directors

Since 2009, Paramount Pictures has been working on a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.  A reboot of the story, meaning this will be the first movie that is not holding true to the origins of the 1990 release of the film.  For the first few years, they tossed around a handful of different writers that could be working on the film, finally taking in Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec and keeping them on board.

50/50: Movie Review

Last week I decided to go see 50/50. I’ve heard good things about the film and wanted to see it for myself. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Adam, a young man who goes to the doctor one day to figure out the cause to some pain in his lower back. Lo and behold he has cancer. Throughout the film, Adam’s best friend Kyle, played by the lovable Seth Rogen, tries his best to help his buddy get through this life-shattering ordeal. Just the idea of seeing these two in a movie together was enough to make me want to watch it, but then we get Bryce Dallas Howard as Adam’s girlfriend.

Movie Review: Real Steel

Since Comic Con International, I’ve been waiting for a movie to hit the theaters, “Real Steel”.  At the convention, we got to see the robots that will be used in the movie.  Hugh Jackman was there to promote the movie, and not only did my sister, Miki, get to meet him where he signed a poster for her, we saw him later on the streets of San Diego.  Later, during my Los Angels trip, we met up with another crew member from “Real Steel” who also worked on “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze”.

Movie Review: Foot Loose 2011

A remake of another 1980’s movie, “Footloose” is coming to the theaters this month.  I’ve had the chance to get a sneak peek at this movie, and wanted to share my thoughts.  While I know I saw the original version of this movie at some point in my life, it’s not something fresh on my mind so this review is about the new film only.  A film that I felt they did really good on.
