Review: RC Shellraiser by Playmates Toys

Some toys just scream buy me when you see them on the shelves.  The toy that jumped out at me before it was even in stores was Playmates Toy’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RC Shellraiser.  It fits toys inside, it shoots sewer lids and it drives.  Though when I got it, I wasn’t going to open till I could do it on camera which meant this one sat around for a little bit.  I finally got the chance to break it out of package.  Here is my review of the RC Shellraiser!

First things first, this toy had the weirdest thing to it.  The packaging.  There’s these plastic pieces that had to be twisted to free the toy from the package.  There was no signs on how to do that.  Not even an arrow or anything on the plastic itself.  It should be easier than twist ties and zip ties  And now if I see them again, I’ll know what to do instead of fighting with it.  I just wish there was some sign within the packaging.

I have taken the RC Shellraiser out to conventions.  And played around with it, having a lot of fun.  Once learning the controls it’s easier to drive.  And fans really seem to like it.  I like that it can hold toys, though feel that the non RC one is better for working right with the toys since it can hold more.  What I like to do is put something else inside of it and have the RC Shellraiser deliver stuff to people.  Save me some walking.

I recommend this toy to anyone who’s a fan of the Nickelodeon TMNT series and like remote control cars to play with.  It’s got a great throwback to the old Pizza thrower with the shooting sewer lids.  Of course this came out before Nickelodeon made a new pizza thrower, which I’ve had yet the chance to check out.  Hopefully will review that before the Holidays this year too.

These are from Playmates Toys.  The company that has stayed with the TMNT for the longest time, and helped make the Turtles to be what they are today.  Please do take the time to check their websites:

That was certainly a fun review!  If it weren't for all the plastic and the, "BLACK TWISTY TABS OF DOOM," you would've had more time to feed Shredhead and The Foot an all-you-can-eat manhole cover buffet.
