Nickelodeon is starting to kick out merchandise that the fans can enjoy. The best thing is that it’s not only toys that are coming to the market but a bunch of things that even us big kids could enjoy. I will like to share some of these new TMNT items that are coming out, which could be easily overlooked if people are not looking for them. This week I’m covering the new TMNT Digital Clock Radio.
As long as I can remember clock radios has been an in thing. Not only does most of my friends and family have these devices around their homes, but almost every hotel room across the country also has one on their nightstand. Used as radios for news, alarms for getting up in time for work, and just a fast way of telling time from most points in the room. While I have had TMNT clocks before, some that do play music, none of them were also radios. For me this is my first TMNT clock radio.
The front of the packaging has the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle logos in the top left hand corner. Along the left side of the box is an image of the Turtles, this same image was used on the front of the packaging for the Tablet Case. In the middle is an image of the clock radio showing the picture that’s on the radio, that there’s an ipod attached, the time and alarm is set. In the upper right hand corner of the box there’s a list of features that comes with this radio. Below that list, is images along with names of devices that work with the radio. And the very bottom right hand corner it says “Digital Clock Radio Dock + Play * Play music from your iphone/ipod”
The list of features that they got at the top right hand corner is..
* LCD Screen Alarm Clock
* Charges your iphone/ipod
* 2 powerful speakers
* wake to Iphone/Ipod radio or alarm
* FM Radio
* Snooze Mode
The devices it works with is the IPod Touch 4th generation 8GB, 32GB and 64GB, Iphone 4 16GB and 32GB, and the Iphone 4S 16GB and 32GB.
On both sides of the packaging they have the same thing. The Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Logo and three zoom in images of features for this device. Large display, Docking Station and Awesome Graphics. These are the same images that are on the radio you see on the front, just zoomed close up and cropped to what they want you to see.
The back side of the packaging has the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle logo in the top left corner. The top right corner has the same text used on the front for the Digital Clock Radio. Under that text is an image of the Turtles, again it is the same image used on the back of the Tablet Case packaging. To the left of that image is the same list of features used on the front of the box. With legal information below all of that. There’s a 1 year warranty on the clock radio. This was made by Sakar.
Since I already have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle alarm clock, which I like the design of more. This one will remain in package for the collection. I also do not own an I pod or an I phone, so the docking station is not much use to me. So my review of this device will not share the sound quality or how easy it works. I’ll be using the image of the radio on the packaging to share my thoughts on it’s looks.
First thing I have to say is, I’m glad that the image on the clock does not match the image on the Tablet case. Seeing how the packaging matches the case so much. We got the four Turtles across the front of the radio, from left to right it’s Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael. Mike seems to be the most in the foreground on this design, as Don’s hand goes behind Mikey. Though it looks like Don is looking at and attacking Mikey with the way they got it set up. Raph looks like he’s about to bap Don and Leo looks like he’s about to bring his sword down upon Mike’s shell. So these Turtles are in a fight with each other. At least that’s how it appears.
The radio itself looks very generic that it could have any image put on it to make it a stylized clock. There’s nothing that stands out saying this is only a TMNT clock. My favorite TMNT clock is ones with personalized buttons, figures of the Turtles on it. This is not that type of clock. It’s just got the image pasted on there. The main color of the clock is blue, now that fits for Turtle fans since Leo would be the Turtle with the schedule, using alarm clocks. This could of also worked in orange since it is an I pod player, and Mikey would be the turtle to use that part of the radio a lot. Personally I’m glad they went with blue, that is my favorite color. There is a green trim around the top edge, which is where the buttons are.
This seems like it would be a great radio for anyone who uses their IPods and IPhones for music a lot. It would be a great clock for any TMNT fan who does not have some of the previous Turtle clocks released to the public. I bought mine from Toys R Us.
Do you have this Digital Clock Radio? Do you use it? If so what are your thoughts? All reviews, comments and questions are welcomed below!

That's pretty cool! I'd love to have a radio, and I do have an iPhone 4, so this would be good for me to purchase. How much was it, and where did you find it, though?

I got mine at Toys R Us. I'm sorry I do not remember the price, just checked their website and they don't have it up there.
