2013 TMNT Valentines Day Stickers

A New Year reams in the next set of Holidays as stores jump at this chance to put the merch on the counters for people to buy.  One would think that these Holidays are week by week with how fast a store will change it's look for us.  With Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years ending the year.  The stores overlap what items are sold just to make sure they cover all the market.  Once the new year begins it seems as if a break from the Holiday rush would be welcomed.  The stores feel otherwise as only a few days after the dawn of the New Year they load their shelves for Valentines Day.  As I walked a store the night of January 2nd, I saw the new display held new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Valentine Cards.

BoxFrontstickersThere was two sets of these cards on the shelves.  One was Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Valentine's Day Cards (32 Sticker Cards Included) for only $2.99.  The front of this box has the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo in the top left corner.  In the center there is an image of the four Turtles that is a very well known pose from the promotional pictures that were released of the new Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles.  Along the bottom there is writing in another language that says.  "CARTES À AUTOCOLLANTS"

And under that writing is warnings.  Looks to be the same warning in two different languages.  In English it says "WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small Parts.  Not for children under 3 years."  The other warning says "MISE EN GARDE: DANGER DE SUFFOCATION - Petites pieces. Ce produit n`est pas recommandé pour les enfants de moins de 3 ans."

The top and two sides of the package have the logo for Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the words 30 Valentine Sticker Cards.  The back of the package has six images of the Nickelodeon Ninja Turtles.  Small print in the top corner of the page says "ACTUAL SIZE/FORMAT REEL".  Sideways next to one of the top photos it says "CARDS IN ENGLISH ONLY/LES CARTES SONT EN ANGLAIS SEULEMENT" and under the image of the Donatello sticker it says "SMALLER THAN ACTUAL SIZE/PLUS PETIT QUE LE FORMAT REEL".

BoxBackstickersThe six images have two that hold all four Turtles.  Only one of these photo is the actual size of the stickers inside the box.  The others are smaller so that they can all fit on here.  The one sticker that is full size has the four Turtles in action poses, with the words "Friends like Us Stick together!", across from that is the Leonardo card that says "Lean. Mean. Green.", directly below Leonardo is Michelangelo that says "Chuck Ya Later!", and across from Michelangelo is Donatello's card that says "You're one Awesome Dude!", below Donatello's sticker is another group shot of turtles that says “Best Friends!” and the last card is across from that which has Raphael on it, that one says “You have Turtle Power!”.

Under the image of Raph’s card is the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle logo and under that is the legal information which is on most Ninja Turtles merchandise.  And below that is a bar code.  In the bottom left hand corner of the box is the information about the makers of these cards.  American Greetings Corp are the people who made this cool set of Valentine Stickers.

It’s very nice packaging, showing what you’re going to get.  Stands out against all the other Valentine boxes.  Easy to read markings on it for people who want to know about the product and who made it.  I like how it popped out and got my attention from across the hall.

Once I opened the package I was surprised to only find the sheets of stickers. Growing up Valentine cards always came with envelopes.  But these only had the stickers, the same six stickers shown on the back of the box.  The back of the stickers have “Happy Valentine’s Day” across the top, than “To:” and “From”.  It’s a green design as the background, looks like a brick wall on some and sewer lids on others.   The Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle logo is there.  And in the very bottom of each card there’s ©Viacom.

I realize these are stickers so they’re a bit more to be made.  Though as a kid I loved the envelopes, the feeling of surprise digging through and opening each card to see what it was.  And as stickers these can’t even fold over in half for you to put a little heart sticker on it so people have to open it up to see the image.  Other than that I really these these stickers are awesome.  The back has all the Valentine stuff on it, for the feeling of the Holiday, but the front sticker is a great sticker that can last all year long.  Not saying “Be Mine” or any other romantic saying.  These are about friendship and look really cool.  No hearts or other added images to make it stand out as a Holiday sticker.  For me, that makes these stickers really cool.

I have been collecting Ninja Turtle Valentine Cards since the early 1990’s, so always glad to see new ones on the shelves.  Making them stickers was a great new touch.  They should be fun to give out to friends and I’m sure kids will love them at their schools.  A Valentine gift they can wear after receiving.  The Holiday season is only starting and we still have a second set of Valentine cards to review.  I will keep an eye out for any other cool things to pop up before Valentines day.

Have you seen these stickers at the stores?  Did you pick up the package?  What are your thoughts?  Please share all reviews, comments and questions below!

Try Target or Wal-Mart, they are more like the store that I found it at. I believe I've seen them at a Target in the area I'm at now. So hopefully they'll have them.

I found them at the Meijers on 13 Mile just east of John R. I'd think you could find them at Targets, K-Mart, Wal-Mart and others stores like that. Though I have not personally gone searching for these cards. I do know Amazon has them.
