I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life. A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen. This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own. I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo. If it’s a part of events that have been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well. Hope everyone enjoys. Today’s photo is friends.
This is Belle, her husband and one of her children taken in 2006. This photo means a lot to me right now, as we just lost her husband on March 11th this year. He was a great man, one you could open up and talk too anytime you needed a friendly ear. His heart was big, as he was always there for Bell, her family and friends. A hard worker, who knew what he loved in life. And a wonderful father to his children.
I choose this photo this week as Belle just had a birthday over the weekend. We talked a lot about the lost of her husband, how the children are taking it and the changes it’s made on her life. It has been a very rough year for her family, and those of us who knew him are feeling the lost. Though we also know that he will live on through our memories.
I take this Kodak Moment as a chance to remember a good friend. And share this memory so others may know how amazing he was. He loved white tigers, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved to go down to Kentucky to visit his family down there. He had pride in his job. And lived by the rule that friends are family, inviting us all over any chance he could. Every time I would visit, we would just sit around and talk about life.
My heart goes out to Belle and her entire family. And I will always remember her husband as a great friend whom I know is watching over her now.
