Random Collection Piece #18

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories weekly to share one item in my collection.  This week I’m covering the TMNT Bike Horn from 1993.

This bike horn came out in 1993 and was part of the Burger King Kids Club toys.  They had the TMNT 3 movie costumes promoting these toys for bikes that came out at this time.  Here is the ad we would see on TV for these toys.

For me I got mine at a Burger King location that just closed down about a year ago.  It’s located on Woodward Ave in Royal Oak Michigan.  They hired me to come in and be a Turtle to promote the new toys.  It was a fun day and I truly enjoyed my time there.  I managed to get all of the Turtle bike toys from there.  And still got my full collection.  I drive by the empty Burger King and miss that location with these great memories of being a Turtle there.

The head of the horn is Raphael.  If you squeeze it, you make the sound of the horn.  The back side is yellow and can connect to bike handlebars.  Really cool toy as it has a purpose and looks neat for any Ninja Turtle Fan.  I have two of these that I can think of in my collection.  The working one is put away for safekeeping.  The one in this photo does not work any longer, and it stays clipped onto my bed frame as part of the room decor.

Do you have this TMNT horn?  If so does it still work and did you get it at Burger King or somewhere else?  Please share your reviews, comments and questions below!
