Review: Half Shell Heroes Shellraiser with Leonardo

The Half Shell Heroes is a toy line that came out by Playmates Toys last year.  A version of the Nickelodeon series being made for younger fans.  These little toys have limited movement, more cartoony features and are really small compared to the normal toy line.  Though this all makes them appealing to both older and younger TMNT fans.  Here is my review of the Half Shell Heroes Shellraiser with Leonardo.

This version of the shellraiser is colored and built different than most of the others.  It almost looks like it could’ve been a Turtle van if they so choose with the shell top and bring yellow color. Though it’s got many features that belong to the Shellraiser from the sewer lid shooter, the garbage cannon and even that round thing on the front.   It’s fun and comes with a Leonardo, same mold as the first one we reviewed besides for the fact that he does not have his swords.

In this video I do a comparison of the Leonardo to the other two Half Shell Leonardo’s that I’ve reviewed.  I also compare the Shellraiser to the original Playmates Shellraiser that was Boy Toy of the year a few years ago.  Showing how each of the features work and giving my thoughts on these toys.

I recommend this shellraiser for people who are collecting the Half Shell Heroes toys.  I also feel this is one of those good “Go to” gifts for people buying for children at birthdays or Holidays.  Christmas is in a few month, and any kid who does not already own this may enjoy a sewer lid shooting, talking toy that can hold their action figures inside.

These are from Playmates Toys.  The company that has stayed with the TMNT for the longest time, and helped make the Turtles to be what they are today.  Please do take the time to check their websites:

My sister has consistently purchased the "Half-Shelled Heroes" figures (with absolutely zero *ahem* influence from me lol).  However, he has yet to have a solid, sturdy means of transport for his little dudes.  I like this version of the "Shellraizer" for its colorful and solid build.  I can see Uncle METALHEAD getting in tons of heated battles with the little one with this, without fear of it breaking easily.
