Recently I reviewed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mix and Match toys for Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo. While those four were fun to review, the fact about the Mix and Match characters is the more you have, the more fun they will be. This has me doing more reviews to add some extra joy to this toy line. In this review I am opening up Mix & Match Shredder and Mix & Match Tiger Claw
.
One mistake I made when I started my review this time, is that I thought the Mix and Match Shredder was based more off of the first released Shredder. Which is how I reviewed him. Once I got to look at the toy a bit more off camera, I realized that he matched up a lot more to the second released Shredder. Basically using the same mold, so this Shredder is not a new mold. Though I can see why I like him more than the first release as there are good details to him. I wanted to clear that up, for anyone looking into these toys.
That being said I really did have a lot of fun opening these toys up and getting to play around with them. Giving Shredder’s body Michelangelo’s head is still one of my favorite mutations. I really feel like it’s a good nod to the old “Cowabunga Shredhead” episode, where Shredder is made to believe he is Michelangelo. Meanwhile Michelangelo has taken off from home, as he craves pizza no more. It’s one of my favorite old episodes, which is why that came to head as I played around here. I can totally see the purpose for these toys more so now that I have them, than when I first heard of this new toy line.
I recommend these toys for Turtle fans, as I feel these are fun and well worth the purchase. As of yet I’ve not put any of my Mix and Match characters back to their normal look, and most likely will not do so till they’re needed for the next video, which will have Splinter, Metalhead and Slash! That review will be coming soon, with more comparisons and fun mutations.
