Review: Monster 500 CrocPot

Monster 500 is a brand new toy line available at Toys R Us featuring characters designed by Creata. The line consists of racers that embody the designs of classic movie monsters. Today we're going to look at my personal favorite in the line, CrocPot.

The racers are available in two size classes, small and large. The small cars are dicast vehicles compatible with the Monster 500 race set. The large cars are electronic, with lights and sounds. This review will be covering one of the large cars.

The sculpting on CrocPot is fantastic. The skin texture is detailed with shading and the eyes even have sculpted pupils on them. The overall quality of the figure is great as well. His vehicle is comprised of a toilet on a go cart. The toilet is made of a very cool translucent plastic that looks solid when the lights are not active. Pushing down on the handle activates one of three sounds, a toilet flush, an engine revving, and an alligator growl. The toilet glows a radioactive green while the sounds play.

Each car comes with a trading card showing the character's artwork, their bio, their racing team, and their "evil level". There's also a code that can be used to unlock a car in the Monster 500 mobile game.

Being a fan of the flushed alligator mutant Leatherhead, I was very happy to add this guy to my collection. The toy design is very creative, and you can tell Creata had a lot of fun making it. I really like this toy, and I recommend checking out the Monster 500 toy line whether you're a kid or an adult collector.
