Review: TMNT Dimension X 32 Valentines

This upcoming weekend is Valentine’s Day.  A day of chocolate, candy, cards and romance.  Not a Holiday I usually get too excited about, though one where some fun merchandise does come out for the schools that take part in it with their students.  Since January 1st, there has been cards filling the stores, along with candy and dolls holding hearts.  Of course the things that catch my attention are the ones based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I’ve seen some that’ve been on the market before, but this year I’ll like to share some new ones.  This review is for American Greetings Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dimension X 32 Valentines.

This was the very first set of Valentine cards that I saw which had the Turtles in their space gear.  It got me excited realizing that this is totally new product, instead of the same ones we’ve been getting each year.  It just had a whole new feel and you can tell it’s for season 4 of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  While it would be cool if 32 cards meant 32 designs for cards.  Though that is never how the cards work.   There’s 8 designs, of these fun cards for people to choose through on who to give what card too.

Even though these cards are clearly for Valentine's Day 2016, the box is still dated for 2015.  The box shows all of the designs on the back, giving us two cards per a Turtle.  Deff new sayings from when I was a kid which were words like “Will you be my Valentine”.  Always felt like you were giving cards to your classmates that was like flirting.  These are more of like a party.  “You have Cosmic Turtle Power” to “Have a Turtle-Rrific Day” and “It’s Valentine’s Day Shell-ebrate!”.  I wish the cards said stuff like that when I was a kid.

For only two dollars, this is not a bad deal and has some nice cards for the kids.  Sadly they only focus on the four Turtles, with so many other rich and strong characters in this season.  Would’ve been neat to see one for each Turtle, then one design for Fugitoid, a design for April, add in Casey Jones will make the entire crew the Turtles are traveling with.  And make the eight design, Mona Lisa since she does bring the feeling of romance to this season of Nickelodeon’s TMNT.  I do think American Greetings takes the easy way out of designs, by only using the four Turtles in this set.

I recommend this set for people with kids, that want to do something affordable and fun.  Having cards that are clearly up to date with the TMNT series.  Or even for adults who do trade with friends who are into the series.  I know I’ve been to events on Valentine's Day before, and shared cards with fellow friends.  It is something fun to do.

Do you have this set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Valentines cards?  Where did you buy your set?  What do you think of them?  Please share reviews, comments and questions below!
