Review: TMNT Toys - Baxter, Snakeweed, Leatherhead

I use to think filming something meant that we will have it up in a month, maybe two months if it’s not part of the Cowabunga Corner season.  Though with summer long trips to gather interviews and event coverage across the United States some files end up getting dust on them as they wait to be discovered.  With videos sitting from March, May and June for Cowabunga Corner reviews, there’s a lot for me to go through and get up here onto the site.

This is one of the videos I wish was posted back in June, it is a review of the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Toys for Leatherhead, Baxter Stockman and Snakeweed .

Each of these toys are based on characters from the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.  These three figures came out in Spring 2013.  While some of them have the looks, others are either too short or just plane strange.  One of these toys even gets a total thumbs down from me on the overall design of the toy.  If you’re truly curious to find out which toy I do not like, just watch the video.

In this review I also give my thoughts on some things that should be done for the TMNT toy line.  From human characters and how they can handle some of the larger characters.  There are a lot of things that is done because of cost.  This is mentioned in interviews with the Playmates Toys folks and at conventions.  Hopefully at some point they will see that it is worth making some of these characters in bigger scale.  Much like they did the Generals for the TMNT 2007 film.

When I filmed this video these were the only three new toys out at the time.  We were at a Cabin in Michigan for a week, so it’s a cool swamp background.  I was truly hoping to be catching up with my reviews at that time with all I was filming.  Other reviews from this trip will be popping up here on Cowabunga Corner hopefully within the next month or so.

Do you own Baxter Stockman, Snakeweed or Leatherhead?  What do you like and not like about these toys?  Which one is your favorite?  Did you do art to up the look of your figure?  Please share reviews, comments and questions below.

Great review Michele! I agree with all your points, especially considering that they need a larger line of figures.
