Review: TMNT Valentine Chocolates 2014

Valentines Day is coming up, the day of romance and sweets.  One of the most known sweets to give to those you care for is Chocolates.  There’s all sorts of Valentine Chocolates that hit the market from January till that day which couples enjoy.  Of course Ninja Turtles jump in on the act releasing these TMNT Chocolates.  This is my review of the Nickelodeon TMNT Chocolates for 2014.

There are two different boxes for these Chocolates.  One has a brick back ground with the four Turtles standing near each other.  The other is a purple back ground with the Turtles in an action pose. The red one says “Valentine Hero” while the purple one has “Valentine Ninja Power”.  The sides of the boxes both have the same images, giving each side a different Turtle and a picture of the chocolate.  Only changing the background to match the top image.  The bottom of the purple box has a light green color, while the bottom of the red box has a purple back ground.  All writing is the same, besides for the barcode area.

I recommend going in from the Michelangelo side of the box to not detroy the packaging.  Opening up the boxes, there are eight chocolate hearts per a box.  These are Crispy Chocolates hearts wrapped in red tinfoil.  Manufactured by Frankford Candy LLC.  They taste good, got a nice crisp to them.  Sort of like a Nestle Crunch bar.  Though the chocolate is okay, I like Nestle’s a little more as there’s that slight wax taste left in the mouth after eating it.  Not enough to stop me from buying these again or giving them to my friends.   They’re a tasty snack.

These are the fun odds and ins I enjoy seeing throughout the year.  Fun to collect the boxes to see the differences of what comes out year to year.  And share with friends while they’re fresh on the market.  I found mine at Meijers in Michigan, though I have also seen them on sale at Meijers in Kentucky.  Check your local store for these awesome Valentine gifts.
