Snap Review: Bubble Elmo

There’s so many different products released every year that we have a hard time keeping up with everything.  From toys, food, and novelty products.  Wanting to cover everything we enjoy, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can take time.  Which has got me deciding to do some shorter reviews, just doing fast coverage of the product itself.  These are our Cowabunga Corner Snap Reviews.  Each review covering a different product, depending on what ever it is we have to share.  This episode covers Little Kids Bubblin' Blast Elmo, Red.

Ever since 1991 when I started to research the behind the scenes of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies Elmo has had my attention.  That is when I learned that he was voiced by Kevin Clash, the same person who was Splinter for the first two TMNT films.  While Elmo was not a main character of Sesame Street in my childhood, he stood out to me because of his TMNT connection.  This made it so I have learned some stuff about him, and even got a few Elmo items in my collection.  With this bit in my history it was fun to have a review based on Elmo.

I have learned a bit about this toy by doing the video.  Like that you have to keep working the mouth to get the bubbles to really come out.  I know I’ve played with some of these where you can hold the mouth open and the bubbles shoot right out.  So I was a bit surprised when I bumped into this problem with my Elmo.

Once working this is a lot of fun.  A toy that kids and adults can goof around with.  The batteries and bubble mix is hidden good, so even when not in use, it can be used as a nice display piece for any Elmo fan.  I recommend this toy for anyone with children who love bubbles, and of course to collectors of Sesame Street!

Do you have the Bubble Elmo?  If so, did yours work right away or did you have to play around with getting it work like I did?  Please share your reviews, comments and questions below!
