Video Review: Fugitoid, Lord Dregg and Mozar by Playmates Toys

Sometimes when doing toy reviews I find myself also doing some character reviews.  Talking about who the toy is and how I feel about them.  This is one of those reviews where it really does feel half character review as I introduce three characters from the Nickelodeon TMNT series who all have history from past versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Here is my review of Fugitoid, Lord Dregg and Mozar.

Fugitoid is such a fun character.  I’ve enjoyed him since the Mirage Comics, was so thrilled that he made it into the 4Kids TMNT series.  And just adore his character in IDW.  Now I find myself loving who his voice is for the Nickelodeon series.  The toy has shoulder joints, wrist, head and knee rotation, as well as joints at the hip.  It doesn’t take much paint to make him look good.

Lord Dregg, this here is the hardest character for me to stomach coming back.  Everyone has their black pit in whatever their favorite fandom is.  Mine is and always has been Lord Dregg.  He became the main arch enemy in the original cartoon for the Turtles in the 1995 and 1996 seasons.  For me, he’s one of the worse two characters in TMNT history and his name just brings nails to a chalkboard as I remember the dark times of the show airing with him in it.  I remember I was new to the internet and just found the original TMNT-L, and while there wasn’t much talking about all things TMNT there was a lot of complaining as everyone was not happy with the show at that time.  I’ve been content with him being gone.  You want to see more of my feelings on Lord Dregg check out this toy review, and my original character review for Dregg and Carter.

Mozar is really cool in the new Nickelodeon series, big and dangerous looking.  He doesn’t look like he’s a human with a Triceraton head.  I love the voice they choose for him.  The biggest disappointment with him is that he did not come with any of his weapons.  His design to have a thicker body does help make him look big, though he is too short for what he is.  Hope to see a taller version of him in the Mix and Match Mutation line some day.

These three action figures are fun for bringing the Space Adventures for the Turtles into play mode.  Each do show their characters as seen in the show.  And each one adds to the ever growing cast from the Nickelodeon series.  I recommend these to collectors of the Nickelodeon toy line, or collectors of their favorite characters like Fugitoid who is now on his 4th toy.  This is the first toy of Lord Dregg in TMNT history, and the second one to be made of Mozar.

These are from Playmates Toys.  The company that has stayed with the TMNT for the longest time, and helped make the Turtles to be what they are today.  Please do take the time to check their websites:
