Cowabunga Corner

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is from Free Comic Book Day 2011, with Chris Brown.

When I became a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, I was only 11 years old.  I did not realize that the age of 38 I would be sitting here still talking about Turtles to this day with other TMNT fans around the world.   I never pictured that I’d get to meet so many people who’ve worked on TMNT either.  I have to say it’s been the wonderful people behind the Ninja Turtles, which kept me a fan all these years.  Which is why I highly encourage other TMNT fans to go out and meet these wonderful folk.  I try to stand behind each of these talented people when they venture out on their own, which brings us to today’s story.  Shellback Artworks, a Gallery, store and school that was opened in Wells, ME by one of those amazing guys.

In August 1994 I made a trip to Northampton, Mass with my mother and sister.  We were only going to get photos of the outside of Mirage Studios, but found something so much more exciting to do.  We learned of the Words & Pictures Museum.  A museum owned by Kevin Eastman, and nicknamed by the residents as “The Turtle Museum”.  Inside there was original TMNT art, other amazing comic artwork, areas where people could draw and even a store.

I am so sorry I’ve been gone so long this time.  I will openly state that this was the worse year of my life with health and stress.  But we’re not here to talk about that, instead what’s to come on Cowabunga Corner.

We want to start bringing you stories again here on the website.  Starting this week, Kodak Moments will be returning with photos from my past and present, which may or may not connect to stories already here on Cowabunga Corner.  We have pictures from my personal life to photos from TMNT events dating all the way back to 1990.  Kodak Moments are simple stories, done for fun and usually are posted on Thursdays.

Life has not been easy this 2016.  Between pain, lawyers, and moving it's been more like a roller coaster.  Never having time to heal up enough to write or film.  Not able to really pull myself together enough to share my passion.  And even finding myself hiding away from the computer more.  I want to break this feeling that's upon me.  The stress alone feels like major weights upon my chest.  I'm hoping things will turn around by time the year is out.  For now, I'm staying in California.  Doing only a few events to try and remind myself why I push forward in life.
