2011 TMNT Merch Review!

In 2011, a lot of Ninja Turtle items came out to stores.  We had T-Shirts, mugs, backpacks, pajamas, blankets, and more.  Spencer Gifts and Hot Topic were two of my top stores for 2011, because they carry these items, most of which is displaying images of the original toon Turtle design upon them.  I am guilty of buying a lot of these items that have come out, so in this write up I’ll like to share about some of my favorite TMNT items from 2011.

Roy's Pizza

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II opened up on the streets of New York City and came down to a pizza place, Roy’s, with the crowd buzzing and eating pizza.  A young delivery boy is called over to deliver a pizza to “That O’Neil Lady”.  The scene is well known as it introduces Keno to the movie.  Though how many fans have known the location of Roy’s?

Review: New York City Comic Con 2011

New York City Comic Con is a convention worthy of having returning fans and booths.  With a great lay out, fun panels, and a nice size crowd, guests for all sorts of people, games for young and older fans and tons of comic booths and artist for everyone to enjoy, this is not an event that disappoints the attendees.  Every year they try to make it bigger and better, with goals to become as big as San Diego Comic Con. Though, personally, I’d be happy if it stays at the size the convention is at right now.

Movie Review: Foot Loose 2011

A remake of another 1980’s movie, “Footloose” is coming to the theaters this month.  I’ve had the chance to get a sneak peek at this movie, and wanted to share my thoughts.  While I know I saw the original version of this movie at some point in my life, it’s not something fresh on my mind so this review is about the new film only.  A film that I felt they did really good on.

Review Detroit FanFare 2011

Detroit FanFare, the new show in town, is trying to become as big as Motor City Comic Con fast.  This show did great last year with Stan Lee as their guest of honor so they figured they’d pull in the same type of crowd this year without Stan Lee and jumped into Cobo Hall in Downtown Detroit.  The plan was flawed as the guest list did not include Stan Lee and the event was not free to the public like it was last year.  Though the event was a blast for EVERY attendee that came to the convention.
