CCN : Cinemassacre Interview from Shell Shock

Cowabunga Corner went to Shell Shock a TMNT Art show on June 3rd. This is one of the interviews that we got while at the event. Cinemassacre was at Shell Shock covering the event, interviewing artist and people there. Once we got talking, I learned that these were some of the people from the "Michelangelo Pizza Taste Test" video.

World Steam Expo 2011

The World Steam Expo.  Steam Punk?  My first thought was Punk Rock, and I never was a fan of that.  Though people tried to explain it to me, even showed me web pages and videos for Steam Punk, the full idea just seemed so different to me.  I was not grasping the idea of this event, and once I read the events at the expo I almost felt like it was a fashion show with many panels on how to put your costumes together, making the props, and being in character.

Kevin Eastman Back on Board!

When Ninja Turtles sold to Nickelodeon in October 2009 a lot talk went around as fears of the new directions Ninja Turtles would take.  Though the biggest fears was no longer seeing those names that we all know being tied into the TMNT.  The first sign of names coming back was last year when it was leaked that Rob Paulsen is returning as a voice for the new show, this time being Donatello.  Hope then came up when we learned of IDW picking up the Ninja Turtle Comic.  Though the biggest surprise came on May 19th, 2011 when "Comic Alliance" released an interview about the c

Con Review: Motor City Comic Con 2011

Since 1997, I have been attending “Motor City Comic Con”, a comic book convention held in Novi, Michigan.  Like most comic book conventions, there’s a dealer room, artist alley, panel rooms and guests.  They bring in Media guests from all sorts of medias from TV shows, movies and wrestling.  And let’s not forget the long list of comic artist that they bring in.

TMNT on Mad TV

With TMNT having down time as we watch every piece of news coming out from Nickelodeon and IDW for something new, it’s good to see spoofs of the Turtles on the air to give us all something to enjoy.  Recently on Cartoon Network their Mad TV cartoon did it’s own spoof on TMNT mixed with TMZ, calling it TMNTMZ TV.

Mirage: Goodbye Facebook

Since October 2009, when the news was released that Viacom bought the Turtles.  Fans have been watching more and more of the stuff we know of Mirage disappear.  With the official Turtle website now down for maintenance, the Mirage comics closing down, the few workers still with Mirage only being there a few days a week to handle the orders that come in for their back stock, and now a good bye on their Facebook page.

Review: Killer B's

The first Thursday of every month a people gather at the Main Arts Theater in Royal Oak, Michigan for an event that gets everyone to howl.  This event is called “The Killer B's” where Wolfman Mac from Chiller Drive-In and his crew host a really bad movie and get to mingle with the fans who show up.  Every time I’m in town for this event, I make sure to attend, for the laughter, the boos, and hitting a beach ball around.
