Review: IDW TMNT #23

In the original cartoon series, Shredder did not try to kill the Turtles right away.  He offered for them to join him.  This was used again in the 4Kids series.  Each time Shredder has tried to win the Turtles over to his side he has failed, and soon decides to destroy them.  In the IDW comics we have a different situation where Shredder knows the Turtles from their previous life.  He does not want just any Turtle, he wants Leonardo.  He has a goal set and is aimed to get it.  In TMNT #22, Leonardo was caught by the Shredder.  So here comes the question that everyone has.  How will Shredder get Leonardo by his side? That is answered in issue 23.

Review: IDW TMNT Micro Baxter Stockman

In the second issue of Mirage’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles we were introduced to a man who would become an iconic character in TMNT History, Baxter Stockman. Creator of the Mousers, boss of April O’Neil, and a totally evil mad scientist.  Baxter was taken in for the original cartoon character first they change the color of his skin, then they turn him into a fly.  Mirage brought him back in Volume 2, turning him into a robot.  4Kids TMNT brought Baxter in much like he was in the Mirage comics and he went through many different changes with robot bodies.

MyLittlePony02-cvrCMy Little Pony Friendship is Magic is a series that has taken the entertainment business by surprise.  It came in as what people saw only to be another reboot of a well known franchise.  Though they did such a great job on this new series that it brought in adult fans both male and female fans have come forward of all ages.  In November IDW picked up on this series by creating a comic book, written by Katie Cook and based off of the popular cartoon series.

Review IDW TMNT #14

The roller coaster of surprises from IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next issues.  While I learned after reading the Fugitoid comic that it was suppose to come after issue 14, I find there was no spoilers in Fugitoid that made our newest TMNT edition any less exciting as Tom Waltz pulls out another amazing adventure for the Turtles.

Review: IDW TMNT #13

For 12 wonderful issues, IDW Publishing has brought us a steady pace of awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle issues.  With the great team of Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman and Dan Duncan, the kept us on our toes from issue to issue.  I really have felt it and loved each of those 12 issues.  I speak highly of this comic to many people as I tell everyone about the new comics from IDW, wIth the twists and turns they threw at us.  It’s been outstanding and a real treat.  With issue 13 though, sad news has come to us all.  Dan Duncan has another job and is now no longer part of the new TMNT series.

Movie Review: "That's My Boy"

Tomorrow Adam Sandler’s new movie, “That’s My Boy,” hits the big screen.   Recently, Adam Sandler movies are hit and miss type films.  People either love them or hate them, then there’s those of us who don’t care one way or another.  My favorite Adam Sandler’s film is “Little Nicky”, though I have not seen or gone to many of his other films.  When I got tickets for “That’s My Boy”, I questioned if I wanted to go to it or not.  I decided to go and went to check out the film.

Movie Review: Madagascar 3

In 2005 a series of movies started, it was just seen as another CGI film at the time about zoo animals.  These zoo animals get in trouble and are shipped away from their home.  Their goal was to try and find away home.  Though things got rough and they were trapped at their new home.  One of the big draws for this movie was the star list of voice actors they had and of course that the movie is from DreamWorks made it very appealing for moviegoers as well.  Who would have guessed that this film would get two sequels and even a spin-off CGI series?   This week, their third film comes to theaters!

Review: Motor City Comic Con 2012

Every year I go to Motor City Comic Con.  It’s one of the smaller conventions that I go to.  I started going here in 1997 and have made many friends at this event over the years.  In fact, my friends are the only reason I still go to the event.  They don’t really have a lot of stuff there that holds my attention anymore as their guests charge for autographs, their panels are hard to hear in, and they’re overpriced for this size of an event.  Though I still manage to get into the show every year to see a few dealers and guests who’ve become my friends through the years.
