Review: IDW TMNT #23

In the original cartoon series, Shredder did not try to kill the Turtles right away.  He offered for them to join him.  This was used again in the 4Kids series.  Each time Shredder has tried to win the Turtles over to his side he has failed, and soon decides to destroy them.  In the IDW comics we have a different situation where Shredder knows the Turtles from their previous life.  He does not want just any Turtle, he wants Leonardo.  He has a goal set and is aimed to get it.  In TMNT #22, Leonardo was caught by the Shredder.  So here comes the question that everyone has.  How will Shredder get Leonardo by his side?

Review: IDW TMNT #12

A year of stories have been building up to a big fight, Ninja Turtles vs. The Foot!  IDW Publishing has been keeping us on our toes with all these comics building more and more on the characters and stories.  Tom Waltz has been bringing us through this world building up the tension.  With Dan’s artwork flowing right through.  What a comic.  And here issue 12 is finally here bringing us a battle of good vs. evil.  Though this does not end the story, this is only the beginning.

Review: IDW TMNT #11

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle history, the first battle with the Shredder is usually highlighted as a fight for the Turtles.  The original comics Splinter sent the Turtles to kill the Shredder, which is what they were originally trained for.  In the first cartoon series, Splinter was kidnapped by a robot and the Turtles had to fight Shredder and the Foot to save Splinter.  In the movies, Splinter was kidnapped by the Foot Clan.  We don’t even get to see how that happened, but the Turtles have to fight the Shredder.

IDW TMNT Valerio Schiti Interview!

IDW is giving us one new issue after another of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Comics.  They are keeping us excited with the stories and art work that we get with each issue.  For the normal series we have Dan Duncan as the lead artist doing each issue as guest artist get to do covers.  Though with the Mirco Series Brian Lynch is writing each one, the art work has been done by different artists each time.  For Donatello’s issue we have Valerio Schiti.

Cowabunga Corner got to the chance to catch up with Valerio and do an interview about how he got into art, and got the chance to do the art work for a TMNT Comic!

Thanks for taking the time for this interview.

CC: First question, what inspired you to become an artist?

X-Men First Class: Movie Review

Back in the early 1990s, I found a cartoon on the Fox Channel on Saturday mornings. X-Men: The Animated Series. It had caught my attention mainly because a decade earlier, I watched Spider-man and his Amazing Friends which occasionally featured the X-Men. Right from the start, I found myself hooked and dearly loving the cartoon.
