Youmacon 2016 TMNT Panel

Review: Youmacon 2015

Halloween weekend has always been one of my favorite weekends of the year.  Growing up, it was for the Holiday.  I loved dressing up in costumes, seeing other people in costumes and the free candy.  I enjoyed the events and just getting to be out in public with the costumes my dad made.  In 2004 I thought that was all going to change for me, as I got hurt at work on October 26th only to find that wearing costumes was a no go.  That was one of the worse Halloweens of my life, as I realized just what I lost from my injury.  In 2005, I had no time to think about Halloween as I was in Vegas on Ha

Kodak Moments #7

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that have been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is a shot of the back of the panel room before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles voice actor panel started at Anime Next in 2007

Review: Youmacon 2012

Since 2005, I have been going to Youmacon, an Anime Con in Detroit, Michigan.  Youmacon is one of the largest fan gatherings in Detroit, with bands, voice actors, artists, and so much more.  It’s a place for cosplayers, gamers, and shoppers to gather.  Some of the guests are even connected to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which makes this one of my favorite events in Michigan.  This year’s convention had a handful of amazing people, so I’d like to share my review of Youmacon 2012.

Random Collection 12

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories weekly to share one item in my collection.

Turtle Con 2003 - Fan Booth

When we did Turtle Con 2000, the original plan was to make money to keep doing the booth each year.  Though we did not make money.  In 2001 we held the booth again, but less people came and it still cost as much to hold.  So in 2002 we skipped out on doing a booth at the convention.  When 2003 rolled around we discussed the idea of doing a convention booth for the return of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  So we pulled the money together and did a weekend of friends that took a lot of work and was a lot of fun.

Review: New York City Comic Con 2011

New York City Comic Con is a convention worthy of having returning fans and booths.  With a great lay out, fun panels, and a nice size crowd, guests for all sorts of people, games for young and older fans and tons of comic booths and artist for everyone to enjoy, this is not an event that disappoints the attendees.  Every year they try to make it bigger and better, with goals to become as big as San Diego Comic Con. Though, personally, I’d be happy if it stays at the size the convention is at right now.
