Cowabunga Corner #103: 4Kids TMNT Season 1

Hey everyone,

Review: IDW TMNT #17

When the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon was cancelled, a lot of great characters disappeared from the different worlds of TMNT.  Mirage, Image, The Next Mutation, 4Kids, and even the movie has not picked up these characters.  As they laid in the past, seeming to be forgotten.  Though when Viacom bought up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle property back in 2009, none of us realized just how many of these lost characters would make their returns in one universe or another.

Review: IDW TMNT #16

With all the hype of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series on Nickelodeon, let’s not forget the first story arc since Viacom has bought the Turtles.  IDW Publishing has it’s awesome comic line, with a full new story for the Turtles.  Different from any version out there, these Turtles are winning the hearts of their readers.  As Tom Waltz is bringing us on a ride full of action, family moments, bad guys and humor.  In the last issue Michelangelo stood alone against their new foe, as his brothers fell.  So here’s my review of issue 16, where we see how the Turtles face off against this new threat.

Review Nickelodeon TMNT "Panic in the Sewers"

Shredder has shown himself to the Turtles!  The Turtles survived that first battle!  And now Shredder has two mutants working for him.  Nickelodeon has been serving up some amazing TMNT action!  Their fight scenes are as promised, fully packed with action and comedy, and while the characters are light hearted at times the plot is thick.  So after spoiling us last week with three packed adventures all in one episode, how are they to follow that?  Well the new episode, which was originally listed on Wikipedia as “Mojo Rising” is now titled “Panic in the Sewers”.   Does the title really fit what we see in the episode?

Review Nickelodeon TMNT "The Gauntlet"

Ever think a title for a tv show episode gave too much away with the episode itself?  Well in this case Nickelodeon must of felt that way, as the original released title for this episode was changed from “Enter Shredder” to “The Gauntlet”.  Enter Shredder, a title that would have everyone excited, though would also be a plot spoiler.  One could see why the title was chosen just from the thrill that comes along with it.  Here is my thoughts on this really amazing episode.

Part 19
"Mark, I need your help. You guys have a way to travel to where I don't even know I'm going somewhere. I need your help now, I'd like to get Master Splinter home for Donatello to take care of him, but I don't want to have to pull him home, through a plane trip and all, that would be to much on him.  Can you help me?"

Review: Nickelodeon TMNT "Never Say Xever"

Since the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series has started up a lot people have felt some of the lessons in the show has been a bit harsh.  With Splinter talking about “causing lots of harm” and “fight to win not fairness”.  So when this weeks episode aired, “Never say Xever”, one had to wonder what Splinter’s thoughts was going to be when Leonardo let’s the Purple Dragon’s run away from a fight?  Is Splinter going to agree with Raphael or confirm Leonardo’s actions?  That’s just one of the subjects that I will cover in this week’s review of the new Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series.

Review: Nickelodeon "Monkey Brain"

In the past the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been seeing monkeying around, with different monkey type villains, from the over sized chimp in the original cartoon series to a talking ape and a Gorilla in Ninja Turtles the Next Mutation.  Nickelodeon is no exception to this rule, as we go into the newest episode "Monkey Brains" where Donatello and April discover a Mutant Monkey that knows how to kick some shell.  Here's my thoughts of this episode and the progress that the series is making with it's 7th episode.

Halloween TMNT Treat

Halloween the time for costumes, though for some TMNT fans costumes are something we enjoy through out the year at events and conventions.  Over the years I've seen way more people in Turtle costumes and here I'll like to share a TMNT treat for all of our readers.  Some of the awesome Ninja Turtle characters I've seen at events in the last 10 years.
