Turtle Bug

As a child I got into a game called “slug bug”, it was the only real car game I became a huge fan of.  If we saw a VW Beetle we would hit the person next to us and say ‘slug bug “color”, no slug back’.  I grew up loving VWs, we had VW vans and both my mom and dad had owned bugs when they were younger.  This made it so a VW beetle was my dream car, it was one of the few cars I could tell apart from all the other cars on the road.  I was disappointed when the first car I had was not a bug, then I got my dad’s van.  When I moved onto the next car I finally got my dream car, a VW Beetle 2000.  This is the Turtle Bug and here’s it’s story.

Random Collection piece #15

Airfreshener

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories weekly to share one item in my collection.

Review: Redford Theatre

Detroit, Michigan has been a very hard-up town for a long time now.  Many people do not want to go there for really good reasons, with a high crime rate, police taking hours to respond, low income, and an overall hard-up feeling to the city with businesses closing down and unemployment going up. What type of business could be worth going into this city?  Well there are some big places that have managed to keep going downtown, it’s nice when you can find that diamond in the rough that is surviving these hard times.
