This is a guide of how I handle conventions.  This is not saying it’s the right away to go around conventions as everyone enjoys conventions for different reasons.  Though my reasons for creating my own little guide is to get to see and meet guests, hang out with friends, and learn as much as I can with spending as little as possible.

Part 2: Planning your weekend

When going to a convention it’s important to note that there are many different type of convention goers, there are the buyers and sellers, the cosplayers and artists, the panelist and staffers.  So once going in I usualy want to know just what it is that I am there for.  Going over a schedule with a highlighter usually helps.  Sometimes a convention will have this posted on their website in advance, though most of the time they don’t.

Part 1: Deciding on going to the Event.

Whenever I start planning my trips I first search up all the events I can for guests that I have not met, or have made friends with and would like to see again.  After I get the events listed out I look at it in terms of which conventions would be affordable for me.  Usually conventions within a 13 to 16 hour driving distance wins me over the fastest, since I can get there cheaper than going to a convention across country.  After I narrow it down to the realistic list of conventions I could try and make it to, I list those conventions on the TMNT-L forums.

In this episode, I talk about an event fans know as “Turtle Con 2000″.

Back in May 2000 there was nothing new coming out of Ninja Turtles besides for a few T-Shirts here or there. Though comics were just going into their quiet time as Image was wrapping up the series, no TV show (not even reruns)… it was not a time the fans liked.

In this episode I talk about conventions, one of the things I’ve done a lot of during my life and still plan to do a lot more. Through conventions I’ve met many TMNT Guest and fellow fans. They’re a lot of fun and I highly recommend them to anyone!
