Adam from D-Lux Entertainment Expo 2014

D-Lux Entertainment Expo 2014 is one of the events that we were at Cowabunga Corner is promoting this year.  An event that has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guests, events, and more.  With an attempt to break the World Record for the most people dressed up like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Here I get to talk with the man behind D-Lux so he can fill our viewers in a little more about the event itself.

Review: Jared's Epic Movie Theater Party

As a kid I started going to many events from Conventions to concerts.  Enjoying all types of entertainment. There was some things I never got to do, and really thought I would never do. This last  weekend I fulfilled a few of these lost dreams at Jared's Epic Party. Meeting people I never met before and making a lot of new friends. Now I want to share this with everyone.

Event Review: TMNT: NEW ANIMATED ADVENTURES Signing w/writer Kenny Byerly!

IDW Publishing recently released the new Animated Adventures of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  This is a new comic book series based on the cartoon.  Much like Archie Comic’s had a comic based on the original cartoon series.  The second issue just came to stores last Wednesday and one Comic Book shop decided that this was something for the fans to celebrate in Pasadena, CA.  Collector's Paradise  did not just bring in the writer for the first two issues of these comics, though they managed to get a Turtle Van to have parked out front and two artist to come in and draw Turtles for the fans who showed up.  This was a welcome surprise to me, since I am currently staying in South Pasadena.  Here is my review of this fun meet and greet!

Review: Summer of Turtles at MOA

On June 30th 2013, I traveled with my dad to Nickelodeon Universe in Minneapolis, Minnesota to take part in a “Summer of Turtles” event. The Summer of Turtles consists of different events that take place on weekends during the summer. This particular event was the animation event. Michele told me about the event, and that she was going to be there with her sister Miki. I have always wanted to be an animator, and I hope to one day have a career in the animation industry. I knew I had to try everything I could to get there.

I initially planned to attend the event on Saturday, but all of the flights that morning had suddenly filled up, and I had no way of getting there. I talked with Michele, and planned on getting there the next day. Sunday Morning, we arrived at the airport. We had three chances to catch a flight and make the event on time. As luck would have it, we made the first flight, and we were on our way from Atlanta to Minneapolis.

Review: D-Lux Karate with Ernie Reyes Jr

When we cover events here at Cowabunga Corner it is normally planned in advance what event and where we need to travel to.  To see most actors from the Ninja Turtle films, we have to leave Michigan unless they’re coming to a local convention.  On Friday June 21st, 2013 I did not have any events planned out.  My family was just returning from a four night stay at a cabin, and before that Miki and I went out to PA for another gathering.

Review: Free Comic Book Day 2013

The first Saturday in May is a yearly event that people can enjoy. As Comic Book stores receive Free Comic Books to pass out to anyone who shows up. In the Detroit area each Comic Book store does their own thing and the event takes place in the store. This is how I thought it was done everywhere, though this year there was two events I wanted to go to that was out of state. I was in for a shock with how one town runs their free comic book day like a Holiday.

Review: Paint and Pixel Festival 2012

There are some events I go too which are not really planned out.  For weeks I was planning to spend October 20th and 21st in Rhode Island for the Yu-Gi-Oh event.  Though during a visit to Northampton, MA with a few friends we learned of another event.  As Tokka and Fugitoid found a flyer in the Thrones Market for a local Art show.  The top of their Guest list, Peter Laird.  Going to be on the East Coast already, but I could not stay in Northampton.  We had to travel back down to New York City, I had to make the choice to spend the full weekend in Rhode Island or take Saturday for Northampton.  I made the wise choice of heading back up to Northampton.

Review: Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Rhode Island

Everyone now and then, there are different events that I go too because of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle connections.  On October 21st, I went to a Yu-Gi-Oh event in Rhode Island.  I went this event to support Dan Green, a voice actor who've gone through a rough time last year when he lost his wife.  Some of the voice actors from Yu-Gi-Oh got together to do this event to help raise money to help Dan, and this was not an event I could miss out on.  The biggest surprise about this event was that the panels and autograph sessions were free to the public, only asking for donations to help Dan.
