Living Dead Dolls Party 10/10/14 NYC

There’s a lot of great toy companies out there, so many that we can never show them all in our reviews of Toy Fair.  One of the companies that has stood out often to me is MEZCO.  I love their products and the lines of the toys they realize.  From Thundercats to Chucky these guys always have eye candy.  Which is why we support their press releases whenever they come our way.  One of their main products is the Living Dead Dolls, and while we were in New York City they held an awesome party for the Living Dead Dolls at Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum.  Here is my review of the event.

Review: Half-Shell Heroes Leatherhead

Playmates Toys has recently released a brand new set of toys aimed at pre-schoolers called "Half-Shell Heroes". These are smaller, reimagined versions of everyone's favorite TMNT characters intended for a younger crowd than the main toy line. Today we are going to take a look at Leatherhead.

Summer of Shell: Nickelodeon Suites Resort

On Wednesday, June 11th 2014 I received a phone call from Michele while she was driving to Orlando, Florida. She was on her way to the Nickelodeon Suites Resort for Retro Weekend, a TMNT event part of the Summer of Shell. Summer of Shell is an event made to celebrate TMNT in one of it's biggest years yet. With the 30th Anniversary, 2014 movie, and epic storyline of the Nick series, the turtle-power-train shows no signs of slowing down!

This event was so big, that one review just won't be able fit it all in. I'll be covering various aspects separately, starting with the hotel itself.

Power Con 2013: Nickelodeon TMNT Panel

Power Con 2013 was a wonderful event for fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  With guests ranging from the original cartoon series to the Nickelodeon series.  There was a little something for everyone.  The Cowabunga Corner crew worked hard to cover every area of TMNT at Power Con.  Here is our video of the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles Nickelodeon panel.

Review: Turtle Comm (1991)

Today we are going to take a look at the original Turtle Comm role play toy released by Playmates Toys in 1991. I recently found this at Dlux Expo in Michigan. Mine is not the same as it was originally, so I will note where things are missing to the best of my knowledge.

Review: LEGO Leatherhead minifigure

For many years, LEGO has been a staple of many childhoods around the world. As adult collectors, we appreciate LEGO toys not only for their imaginative concepts, but for the amazing quality that is put into each piece.

Review: Men In Black "Neuralyzer"

The Men in Black films have a variety of iconic characters and props. Today we're going to take a look at the most iconic prop from these films, the Neuralyzer.

This Neuralyzer is the one sold at Universal Studios Florida exclusively inside the Men In Black attraction. It is the second version of this prop available at the ride. The first one, available since the ride's opening in 1999, was based on the movie 1 Neuralyzer and featured a dial with a changeable year, as well as a smooth casing and smaller belt clip. The 2013 revised model features a package that claims it is an "authentic movie replica" while the original merely stated "futuristic styling".

Review: D-Lux Entertainment Expo 2014

Fandom is a very tricky thing.  Some fans are happy with just enjoying their world around them, other fans feel they need to compete with their fellow fans and a lot of fans want to reach out and do something great for the fandom.  Sometimes fans can make such a huge impact their names and faces are known all around, while many great fans do wonderful things for the fandom without receiving the credit they deserve.  The one thing I can truly say about this, it’s not easy being a fan who wants to do stuff for the fandom.  When someone does make that step, and watch things happen around them they can get lost in everything and not even realize all they did till the time has blo

Review: T2-3D

Originally opened in 1999 at Universal Studios Florida, T2-3D picks up after the second Terminator film, Judgement Day. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Edward Furlong. Along with Universal Orlando actors, but we'll get to that in a moment.
