The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been on full swing since it released Iron Man in 2008.  We've seen two Iron Man sequels, two Captain America movies, two Thor movies, an Avengers movie with more to come, Guardians of the Galaxy and two televisions shows (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter).  Now, Netflix has taken up the mantle of producing new shows. The first one is Daredevil, and right off the bat, it is great.
