Review: Half Shell Heroes Dinos and Turtles and "Blast into the Past" Special

Last week we shared the review for “Blast into the Past” A big Golden Book.  It’s based on the new Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Special.  This week, we’re bringing our focus back there, as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Blast into the Past” airs on TV for it’s first time on November 22nd.  This review brings us right to the heart of the special, Playmates Toys.  Inspired by the Half Shell Heroes toys, here is my review of the 2pack sets of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Dinos.

Review: "Blast to the Past" a Big Golden Book

Back in the day the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys inspired characters that appeared in the original TMNT cartoon from Groundchuck, Dirtbag to Chrome Dome.  Other times ideas for the Turtles spread from the toys to both the cartoon and archie comics, mainly the Cyber Turtles.  Though this is the first time ever where the toys inspired a full TV Special that is even getting books.  Inspired by the Half Shell Heroes line of Ninja Turtle toys, we get “Blast to the Past”, which also uses the old Cave Turtles and Dino toys, for designs and storyline for this TMNT adventure.  Here is my review of the

Youmacon and Midwest Media Expo 2015!

This is Youmacon… this is Youmacon, Youmacon, Youmacon!  That’s right, it the week of Youmacon, which means it’s also Halloween and I’m just so excited to be returning to one of my favorite conventions of the year.  A great staff, awesome talent and a big fun location.  Fun panels and amazing concerts!  In this write up I’ll share a bit about Youmacon 2014 and since Youmacon is ran by the same crew as Midwest Media Expo, I felt this was a great time to pull out one of the TMNT Panels I did at Midwest Media Expo 2015!

Review: Turflytle & Baxter Fly Toys

Often toy companies make more than one version of a character, if their toys are doing well.  Be it a toy in fighting mode, a toy dressed for space or a toy with some sort of new function.  Not to different from the Mutation line, Half Shell Heroes all compared to the regular toy line for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I don’t always get excited when it’s just a different version of characters I already own, though this time I will admit I was excited to do a review of two new toys which fall into the regular toy line.  Here is my review of Turflytle and Fly Baxter Stockman.
