Saving a Life

Life is all around us.  Sometimes people don’t realize how important life is with every creature. So when something is in need of help it, can be overlooked.  I know not everyone can save everything, but if you see something in need, be it human or animal, would you take a moment of your time to help?  I’ve done so often for animals, big and small.  If I see something where I can take some sort of action to make a difference right then and there, I will do so.

Close Call : Hit & Run

Life has an adventure around every corner and sometimes you can be pulled into a scene that feels like it was in a movie.  A few years ago, I had a close call while driving down an expressway I use everyday.  I just picked up a friend, Eclipse, to come over for the weekend.

Cowabunga Corner #90: Detroit Fanfare 2011

Hey everyone,

Bullies - My Beginning

Bullies, something I’ve touched upon a few times here on Cowabunga Corner and about the history that I’ve been through. Every story has its beginning and for me it, it started all the way back in kindergarten. One boy had the power to influence my call and beyond.  Though I do not think he ever realized that it would go in the direction that things ended up going.  I will always remember the beginning being some of the hardest times for me.  In this story, I will call him JR.

The Local Bang!

I'm going to paint a picture, though first I want to make it clear that I don't know if anyone was hurt or not, or even how it happened. Though this was a big shake up.

Friend Memories #3

I’ve written about bullies and shared some of the bad stuff that I’ve been through.  Though while it’s easy to write and complain about people, sometimes we forget to cherish those that we have.  So I’m going to take time and do write ups about friends that have come into my life who I still know and hang out with to this day and how these people were able to see through the lies and cruelty of those others around us, and get to know me for who I am.

Getting into Karate

Growing up was very hard for me, though my family life was great, school was a total nightmare with all the fights I had to go through.  People would gang up and attack me, and when asked why, it was always “because my friend was doing it”.  Most of the years I would not even attempt to hit back. I hated pain and it would go through my head, if I hate it why cause others to be in pain?  So instead, I would drop down and let them beat me up.  Most superheroes taught you that you needed superpowers or gadgets to be able to defend yourself.  So the idea of fighting back for defense did not come to me till I became a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Friend Memories #2

I’ve written about bullies and shared some of the bad stuff that I’ve been through.  Though while it’s easy to write and complain about people, sometimes we forget to cherish those that we have.  So I’m going to take time and do write ups about friends that have come into my life who I still know and hang out with to this day and how these people were able to see through the lies and cruelty of those others around us, and get to know me for who I am.  This friend was introduced to me from my friend, Belle, and end up becoming one of my closes friends.

World Steam Expo 2012 Review

This last month, I went to the World Steam Expo in Dearborn, Michigan.  This is a great event held yearly based around the fandom of Steam Punk with guests, panels, concerts and a great dealer room.  This is Cowabunga Corner's second year covering the World Steam Expo.  We arrived at the event on Friday and spent the full weekend floating around checking out different events and talking to many people.
