Mirage

2012 Nickelodeon gave us a great ride with their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.  As we had 12 amazing episodes of action, comedy, heart, and pizza.  We watched as the Turtles ventured to the surface for the first time, had their first taste of pizza and first real fight.  We saw the Turtles learn to fight as a team, make new friends and see the danger of facing the Shredder.  We were on the edge of our seats as Dogpound and Fishface would work to destroy the Turtles, the Kraang kept making more mutants and Shredder beat the Turtles down.  Then we had a break, weeks with no new episodes of TMNT as everyone kept asking when are they returning.

In September 2012 I had the chance to interview Pat and Chris from Playmate Toys about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line based on the Nickelodeon TMNT series that started later that month.  We talk about the steps they go through in making the toys, how long they’ve been involved with Playmates and about toys that have not made it to the market.

Merry Christmas everyone!   Ever since I was a kid Christmas has been one of my favorite Holidays.  I love all the colors of Christmas lights, going out with the family on Christmas eve to see all the houses done up for the Holiday.  Having the big dinner with the family.  Of course I gotta say gifts are always fun too, but that is only a perk for the excuse to be together with everyone.  I know not all of our readers take part in this Holiday, though I feel all Holidays have this special thing to them no matter which ones you’re a part of.  It’s the warmth of being with those you love, and for my family Christmas is a big part of that.

Hey everyone,

Close your eyes, take in a deep breath.. with that breath take in everything you know about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Now release the breath letting that information go just for a little bit.  Remember that information will always be there, the old shows and comics are not erased.  They will remain in the public eyes for years to come.  Though now we get to see a new, and the best way to view something new is with fresh eyes and without comparison.  Nothing can and will replace your favorite media of Ninja Turtles, and the new is not looking to replace it.  The new is only opening doors for new fans, and giving us old fans something else to look into.

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories weekly to share one item in my collection.
