Kodak Moments #2

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that have been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is a shot of Ernie Reyes Jr, my mom and I in June 2013.

1991 Coming Out of Their Shells Tour Chicago

It was 1991, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were going strong around the world, from the movies, toys, cartoons, and the live concert was still going around the country.  This was a smaller show that was edited down from the original “Coming Out of Their Shells Tour”.  They came to Michigan to do a show.  I was staying at my aunt’s during that time and was not able to convince anyone to take me to the show, since I saw the full show back in October.  I was crushed. I wanted to see it alive again so badly.  Disappointed that I missed the show, the only thing I got was a poster that was badly beaten left hanging in a store on their pinboard.

A Gift of Love, Remembering My Grandmother

Caring. Thoughtful. Wise. Inspirational. These are a few words that I could use to describe my grandmother. I’m sure everyone has someone in their life that they can give a lot of credit to for who they turned out to be in life. For me, I have a few people who helped me find my way through life. Today, I’d like to talk about one of those people, one who helped me not fall into depression through my childhood with the terrifying events that I would go through at school.
