Review: Midwest Media Expo

Conventions are one of my favorite things to do.  It takes you out of the stress for a weekend and places you somewhere that you can meet and hang out with people that enjoy the same stuff as you do.  Be this in your backyard or across the globe, conventions are like a second home to those who go.  Conventions usually start really small and have to work their way up, though in Michigan we got a new one called “Midwest Media Expo” which road the success of Youmacon to make it the largest first year event in Michigan.  I was at a guest at this convention and will love to share my review of a great weekend in Detroit.

Movie Review: LEGO Movie

Last year a big surprise hit the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fandom.  The new LEGO movie trailer showed Michelangelo as one of the characters that can be seen in the movie.  Of course the only part we saw him in was when he’s introduced, so there was question if he would be in more of the movie.  While other heroes like Batman was getting a lot of screen time in the trailers.  This put the LEGO movie on my Calendar as a must see movie for 2014.  And it finally hit the theaters today.  Here is my review of the LEGO Movie!

Movie Review: Peace, Love and understanding

Romance is one of those areas in life that doesn't normally entertain me.  I usually feel it's forced when shoved into a story, because people like the results of a love story.  I do not really hang out with many people who enjoy love stories, so these are not the movies we buy or go see.  So when I learned that the movie we were seeing is called "Love, Peace and Misunderstanding", I was debating if I would enjoy the movie or be bored.

Youmacon 2010 Review

Morgan, Youmacon Chairman

Youmacon is an anime convention held in the Detroit Metro area yearly for six years now.  I’ve been lucky enough to make all six of these years, watching as we went from the small Hilton Hotel in Troy Michigan to what is the tallest building in Detroit, the Renaissance Center.

This year at Youmacon, they had a great guest list ranging from voice over actors to musical guests.  There were panels, contests, dealers, and free give-aways.  Youmacon went above and beyond to go out of the way for the attendees to have a good time.  I was able to get a look at the different areas of the convention through the weekend and found people enjoying themsevles.
