Ninja Turtles

Kodak Moment #77

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is from Motor City Comic Con 2000.

CCN: Rob Paulsen Interview May 2018

Through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles history there is a group of amazing people who can say they’ve been along for the ride of a lifetime through different areas of Ninja Turtle history.  Rob Paulsen is one of those amazing people that can share stories from working on the original TMNT series from 1987 to 1995, as Raphael.  He came back in the 2012 Nickelodeon series all the way through 2017 as the voice of Donatello.  And now he’s staying with the Ninja Turtles for their newest series coming out this fall, “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.  I caught up with Rob Paulsen at Motor City Comic Con where he agreed to give us this short interview.

BBO : TMNT Hero Clix 10

There’s a lot of products that come out these days as blind bags.  These are toys that you never know which one of the collection you’re going to get till you open it.  For me, it’s a collectors worse nightmare cause you end up buying the same toy over and over looking for the entire collection.  Though I would be lying, if I say it’s not fun opening the bag.  Almost like opening a present, with the excitement build up to see what’s next.  So I decided to film blind bag openings to share with all of you.  This weekly video will be short opening of bling bag toys.  This first set of blind bags to be shared is the “Hero Clixs” Limited edition Heroes in a Half Shell Series II.

Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The IDW Collection Hardcover Books

I recently purchased Volumes 1 and 2 (Volume 3 is in the mail) of IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hardcover books. I collected many of the first issues as they were coming out when the series began, then went to trade paperbacks, then began reading them digitally with the occasional collected edition purchase or grabbing the single issues of a special event such as Bebop and Rocksteady Destroy Everything.

Rise of the TMNT : Leonardo's Design

The internet exploded shortly after the designs for the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series was released in February.  As fans of all ages found themselves split down the middle upon the new look and feel for the Ninja Turtles, as there’s no question that this is a road they’ve never been on before.  I tried to write one story that would include my thoughts on the Facebook Live, designs, show overall and even the toys.  But it got long and hard to write, let alone read.  Which brings me here, where I’m going to give a short write up about each of the things revealed about “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.  Let’s talk about Leonardo and his new design.

Matthew's First Comicon

My First Comicon

A Turtle Fan’s Dream Come True

While I have been to a couple conventions of a similar variety, I had not yet been close enough to a comic convention that contained much of anything I cared to pay for. A few months ago, I saw it announced that TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman would be in Raleigh at the NC Comicon and there were early bird tickets that included Eastman exclusive perks such as early seating for panels and extra signatures. I immediately bought one as a birthday present to myself, but I really didn’t need an excuse.
