Happy New Years from Cowabunga Corner

Happy New Years everyone!  Hope everyone got to enjoy big parties, time with families and friends, and good food to bring in 2014!  Miki and myself joined some friends last night for a New Years party that included some good company and fun games.  Cowabunga Corner is happy to share some of our plans for 2014 now, and our newest video which is about an event going on right now for people in the Detroit Michigan area.

This past weekend I spent an evening at the Detroit Zoo.  They got an awesome lights show going on right now which is worth seeing with your own eyes.  They have costume characters walking around, ice cravings and more.  Check out this video from the Detroit Zoo.

Review: IDW Nick TMNT #1

With all the hints of the new IDW Nickelodeon TMNT Comic that has been coming out we finally get to see the first issue in our hands. Before this we got the Nickelodeon Rise of the Turtles story which was clips from the cartoon and on Free Comic Book day we got an awesome short comic.  Now we get to see the IDW TMNT Comics that will lead off onto their own adventures.  Will they tie in with the cartoon or will they become like what was done to the Archie Comics?  Only time will tell.  Personally, I hope they take their own road.  Here is my review for the start of a new comic series.

Review: IDW TMNT #13

For 12 wonderful issues, IDW Publishing has brought us a steady pace of awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle issues.  With the great team of Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman and Dan Duncan, the kept us on our toes from issue to issue.  I really have felt it and loved each of those 12 issues.  I speak highly of this comic to many people as I tell everyone about the new comics from IDW, wIth the twists and turns they threw at us.  It’s been outstanding and a real treat.  With issue 13 though, sad news has come to us all.  Dan Duncan has another job and is now no longer part of the new TMNT series.

Review: TMNT Micro Series Vol 1

IDW Publishing has been bringing us a handful of great comic books, this time it’s the IDW TMNT Micro Series. With a total of 8 in production, we’ve seen four of them so far and they’ve been great.  I’ve had the chance to review each of these comics as they came out.  There was the Raphael issue, which brought us signs of Bebop and Rocksteady.

Movie Review: Peace, Love and understanding

Romance is one of those areas in life that doesn't normally entertain me.  I usually feel it's forced when shoved into a story, because people like the results of a love story.  I do not really hang out with many people who enjoy love stories, so these are not the movies we buy or go see.  So when I learned that the movie we were seeing is called "Love, Peace and Misunderstanding", I was debating if I would enjoy the movie or be bored.

Movie Review: Bernie

Often things happen in our world where people feel that the outcome of the event is wrong. Though most of the time these events get swept under the rug and forgotten about.  In the case of a man who killed an 83 year old woman, the events were not forgotten.  The people did not feel that the story got out properly, so they took part in a dark comedy based around the murder.  The man who did the killing was named Bernie.  Here is my review of the ‘movie’.

Review: Nickelodeon Universe Rides

Mall of America, one of our great tourist attractions is a huge mall with a lot of stores and even a theme park in the middle of the mall.  Originally the theme park was “Camp Snoopy” though a few years ago that park was changed into Nickelodeon Universe.  A nice size indoor theme park with rides for people of all ages.

Review: TMNT Shell Shock Display

One of the big draws that makes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock a TMNT theme ride great is the statues that sit around the entrance of the ride.  Without these this ride would not look nearly as cool as it does for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans.  All of the statues are based on the new design for the Nickelodeon TMNT series, including a big statue of the Shredder, which was the first look that was public for the fans to see. I feel each of these statues deserve a close look for the fans who have not been able to make it to Mall of America.  So here is my review of each of the characters.

Title: Ninja Turtles

More news on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film has been confirmed.  The studios is looking to title the movie “Ninja Turtles”, instead of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.
