Review New York City Comic Con 2016

New York City Comic Con 2016 was just this past weekend.  With a lot of cosplayers, shoppers and guests.  Tons of panels to entertain the masses, games to share the swag with the crowd and mascots to bring super heroes to life.  Here is my review of New York City Comic Con 2016.

I got in line Thursday morning with Metalhead and Mondo Gecko.  While waiting for Alopex, who had Metalhead and my badge.  We met a lot of other TMNT fans.  Getting to talk to people heading to sit in the line that was inside.  Besides for the sun, it wasn't a bad waiting spot.  I was able to show them a few things on my laptop and we some of the other fun stuff I brought.

August 2016 Update - Where am I?

Ferndale Family Home with Claudia and David IveyLife has not been easy this 2016.  Between pain, lawyers, and moving it's been more like a roller coaster.  Never having time to heal up enough to write or film.  Not able to really pull myself together enough to share my passion.  And even finding myself hiding away from the computer more.  I want to break this feeling that's upon me.  The stress alone feels like major weights upon my chest.  I'm hoping things will turn around by time the year is out.  For now, I'm staying in California.  Doing only a few events to try and remind myself why I push forward in life.

Living with RSD - Not making my life about RSD

In 2004, I was injured at work.  This is something I bring up from time to time here on Cowabunga Corner.  Though I don’t want to be remembered only as that person who had RSD, when I have so much other stuff that I can focus on which are happier moments.  So, I share to help with the awareness of RSD, and then I write happier stories where I don’t always share the pain that happened behind the story.  In fact, if I’m on video and start having problems, I turn off the cameras and take a break.  It’s all stuff that is edited out as much as I can

RSD Awareness Shirt Sale - Only a few days left

I have often shared here on Cowabunga Corner that I have RSD from a work injury that happened in October 2004.  It has come to my attention that there's a hoodie for sale that really does match up to how I feel about RSD.  I am not connected to the group selling this hoodie, nor am I making anything for promoting it.

Good Bye 2015

New York Comic Con 20152015 has come to it’s end and what a year it has been.  From the good to the bad, this year has kept us going in circles with family health, moving, and traveling.  There was always something going on to keep me busy. All the while, I never forgot about Cowabunga Corner or really took a true break from trying to do stuff for the site.  Here’s a look back at Cowabunga Corner for 2015.

Comic Con International Hall H - Discrimination against Handicap people who walk

Being handicapped is difficult.  Some handicaps are obvious such as missing a limb, wheelchair bound, or using a service animal.  But there are less obvious handicaps: difficulty breathing, continuous pain, sudden onset pain and neurological problems to name a few.  Having a handicap makes life for that person just a little harder than for others.  And everyone with a handicap has their personal story to tell of why they are how they are, and what pain they manage in their lives.  This does not mean that handicap people do not deserve to live a normal life. It just means we need a little assistance.

Random Collection Piece #19

TMNTWorkNoteBook

Throughout the years of being a Ninja Turtle fan, my collection has been growing.  Every year I get something new that joins the collection.  Growing since 1989, I have over 500 Ninja Turtle toys out of package and over 300 in package, as well as books, animation cels, original comic art, scripts and so much more.  To cover all of this on Cowabunga Corner is not something I really think I can do.  Though I get a lot of questions about my collection, so I figured I could do random stories weekly to share one item in my collection.  This week I’m covering a TMNT Notepad.

Making of Cowabunga Corner Season 3

Cowabunga Corner Season 3 was a total blast to make!  I cannot thank everyone enough for all the time they put into it.  This season was the first time where we had almost as many interviews as we did reviews, which did really surprise me as that was not something I thought was going to ever happen.

RSD Update

Many people have been asking me how things have been since my surgery, what I’ve gone through, and just how much of a difference it has made.  I’m at the point where I’m ready to share the last few months of my life and just what a wonderful thing these doctors have done for me.
