Changes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Close your eyes, take in a deep breath.. with that breath take in everything you know about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Now release the breath letting that information go just for a little bit.  Remember that information will always be there, the old shows and comics are not erased.  They will remain in the public eyes for years to come.  Though now we get to see a new, and the best way to view something new is with fresh eyes and without comparison.  Nothing can and will replace your favorite media of Ninja Turtles, and the new is not looking to replace it.  The new is only opening doors for new fans, and giving us old fans something else to look into.

1991 Coming Out of Their Shells Tour Chicago

It was 1991, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were going strong around the world, from the movies, toys, cartoons, and the live concert was still going around the country.  This was a smaller show that was edited down from the original “Coming Out of Their Shells Tour”.  They came to Michigan to do a show.  I was staying at my aunt’s during that time and was not able to convince anyone to take me to the show, since I saw the full show back in October.  I was crushed. I wanted to see it alive again so badly.  Disappointed that I missed the show, the only thing I got was a poster that was badly beaten left hanging in a store on their pinboard.

I wake up with a bigger fear of what's going to happen.  It was another nightmare, it had to be. I stand up.   It was like the dream from earlier, when getting ready to go meet Killer. Nothing could be worse than that dream.   The worse part is that it feels so real.  So real that I can still hear the devil talking to me. I grab my swords and put them on my belt, then walk to the lunchroom.

Review IDW Micro TMNT #8 Fugitoid

As I’ve been reading the IDW comics, I keep getting more impressed with the new roads each of the characters are taking.  Recently, we’re getting so many issues back to back it’s amazing to see all of these comics still throwing surprises at us.  Today a new issue came to stand, it’s the last set of the eight Micro Series issues, and this time it’s about the Fugitoid.  I was wondering how they were going to throw him into the mix as we already had so much going on with the IDW comics.  Where could a new character come in and how will just pumping the story with characters help move the story along?

Review: Rob Paulsen's Talkin Toons TMNT

In 1989, I was introduced to a TV series that changed my life.  Through the years of knowing this show I have had some really cool adventures, met some wonderful people and have grown an amazing collection.  And the full time I’ve held a deep respect for those who made this all happen for me, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon series.  This show was truly what got me hooked to Ninja Turtles and I could never thank the cast and crew enough for how much it has helped me in my life.  Really, I never knew if I’d get the chance to meet the cast of the show.  So when Rob Paulsen announced that the cast was going to be on his podcast Talkin Toons, as well as it being recorded live, I knew this was an event I could not miss.

Review: IDW TMNT Classics Vol. 2

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics Volume 2 has come out.  This is a mix of stories of Mirage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stories.  In Volume 1, we had one issue plus a bunch of stories that could be found in other books, but together could be found in Shell Shock.  Now Volume 2 has come out, as they are focusing straight on Mirage issues right now.  Exciting to see in color, though still wishing these were all going into the awesome books that are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimate Collection.

TMNT Nickelodeon Toy Review #2

On July 5th, I shared a review of the TMNT toys that came out and are based off of the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line.   At that time, I only covered the four Turtles with promise to cover the other characters when I could.  I’ve finally gotten my hands on a second set of th  Nickelodeon toy line to be able to share this review.  Just like before, I did a video of me opening the toys.  So here’s the video and then we’ll get onto a bit of a written review.

Review: SDCC TMNT Panel 2012

Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is coming out on September 29th, 2012. With this information there was no way that San Diego Comic Con could pass up on having a totally awesome TMNT panel, bringing in the cast and creative team behind the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Cowabunga Corner crew, as well as many other TMNT fans, gathered for this event to try and be some of the first to see and hear the news about this new series.

Review: IDW TMNT #13

For 12 wonderful issues, IDW Publishing has brought us a steady pace of awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle issues.  With the great team of Tom Waltz, Kevin Eastman and Dan Duncan, the kept us on our toes from issue to issue.  I really have felt it and loved each of those 12 issues.  I speak highly of this comic to many people as I tell everyone about the new comics from IDW, wIth the twists and turns they threw at us.  It’s been outstanding and a real treat.  With issue 13 though, sad news has come to us all.  Dan Duncan has another job and is now no longer part of the new TMNT series.
