Kodak Moment #65

I got hundreds to thousands of photos through my life.  A lot of which would match up to stories here on Cowabunga Corner, but for one reason or another they are not chosen.  This does not mean that these photos are not worth sharing and do not hold stories of their own.  I would like to keep sharing what I can here on the site, so whenever I can I will share a photo and a story to go along with the photo.  If it’s a part of events that has been shared here, we will link back to the stories of the events themselves as well.  Hope everyone enjoys.  Today’s photo is Michelangelo and I in 2009.

TMNT Live 1990 Auckland Aotea Centre New Zealand

So much Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff come out around the World.  These days it’s easier to hear about and see what is out there for Ninja Turtles.  Though back when the first big bang of TMNT fandom happened, it was not hard to miss out because of not seeing a News Paper artical or the event not even being in your country.  A lot of people seem to think I’ve seen and know of all things TMNT, when in truth I don’t think anyone has or could.  Which is why I love to share things new and old of Ninja Turtles here on Cowabunga Corner.  Today I’m sharing something old, but new to me.

Midwest Media Expo 2014: TMNT Panel

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has now been around for 30 years.  With the celebration going on throughout the year I’ve been invited as a guest to different conventions and events.  One of these events was the Midwest Media Expo held in Detroit, Michigan. They asked me to do a TMNT panel based on the 30 years of Ninja Turtles, giving me an hour and a half to talk Turtles, with an awesome co-host to help bring this panel to life, Andre Meadows from Black Nerd Comedy!  This is that panel.

Review; Michael Nesmith Solo Show 2013

As a child I did not listen to the radio very often.  When I would hear music, it would be records or tapes of the other things my family enjoyed.  The music I heard most was The Monkees, a band from the 1960s which was created for a TV show starring Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith.  This became my favorite music growing up.

Cowabunga Corner #100! Bloopers

Welcome to episode 22 of Cowabunga Corner Season 4!   And Thank You to all of our viewers for supporting us through 100 episodes!  In this episode we go over the many bloopers that has happened through the first 15 episodes of trying to film this fun blog for everyone.  Lots of laughs, falling items and background noise.  And even editing bloopers with this episode, like the L in the title to noise issues as our editing program hated how much work we threw it through.  So enjoy our mistakes!

1991 Coming Out of Their Shells Tour Chicago

It was 1991, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were going strong around the world, from the movies, toys, cartoons, and the live concert was still going around the country.  This was a smaller show that was edited down from the original “Coming Out of Their Shells Tour”.  They came to Michigan to do a show.  I was staying at my aunt’s during that time and was not able to convince anyone to take me to the show, since I saw the full show back in October.  I was crushed. I wanted to see it alive again so badly.  Disappointed that I missed the show, the only thing I got was a poster that was badly beaten left hanging in a store on their pinboard.

Review: "Turtle Power!" By Consumer Guide

When I first got into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I wanted to learn everything there was to know about them.  The best book was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Treasury.   Though there was another TMNT book that I used to help learn about the TMNT stuff out there.

Michele Ivey's "Cowabunga Corner" #75

In this episode I share a time when a group of Ninja Turtle fans got to visit Mirage Studios. They were in town for the Words & Pictures Museum and got invited to see the studio.

Mirage Studios was founded by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and made it's mark on the map when they released the first Ninja Turtle comic in 1984. At that time there was no studio, though with the success of the Turtles, the studio became real. The first location was flooded out, so this is not the only building that has been Mirage. Though this building has been Mirage Studios for many years.

Tales of TMNT Guests #1

Throughout my years as a Ninja Turtle fan, one thing has always been so amazing that it’s kept me in this fandom and making memories that I’ll never forget and making new friends, whom I hope will be friends for a very long time.  These are some of my stories of meeting the people behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
