Review: IDW Mirco TMNT Series #5

The original Mirage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Series only had four issues, one for each Turtle.  These were awesome comics that connected back to the main series, each comic sharing a story of one character so you could get to know that character better and did some things that would touch the main story.  IDW Publishing has decided to bring back the Micro Series, though to our surprise there are more than four issues.  This review is of issue five of the TMNT Micro Series, an issue based around Splinter.  This issue picks up directly after issue 10 of the ongoing series.

Movie Review: "That's My Boy"

Tomorrow Adam Sandler’s new movie, “That’s My Boy,” hits the big screen.   Recently, Adam Sandler movies are hit and miss type films.  People either love them or hate them, then there’s those of us who don’t care one way or another.  My favorite Adam Sandler’s film is “Little Nicky”, though I have not seen or gone to many of his other films.  When I got tickets for “That’s My Boy”, I questioned if I wanted to go to it or not.  I decided to go and went to check out the film.

Movie Review: Madagascar 3

In 2005 a series of movies started, it was just seen as another CGI film at the time about zoo animals.  These zoo animals get in trouble and are shipped away from their home.  Their goal was to try and find away home.  Though things got rough and they were trapped at their new home.  One of the big draws for this movie was the star list of voice actors they had and of course that the movie is from DreamWorks made it very appealing for moviegoers as well.  Who would have guessed that this film would get two sequels and even a spin-off CGI series?   This week, their third film comes to theaters!

Movie Review: High School

Many different type of movies come out through the year and I find myself usually more into the action, adventure, superhero, or animated features.  To be fair, when I receive a screening pass, I will go to it and just give it a try even if the trailer does not hold my attention. Sometimes I get surprised, like Battleship where I went in not expecting much and came out so thrilled with the fact that I saw the movie.   This was one of those pictures where I went in not sure about it, when I told people I got tickets for this movie the biggest reaction is was “what movie?”  The movie is “High School”.

Review: IDW TMNT Micro Series #4

IDW has been keeping us on our toes with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, and this month we got a few hitting the shelves.  Today there is the new Leonardo issue from the Micro Series.  This issue, I had to double check the cover to make sure it was the Micro Series when I saw it picked up from where issue 8 of the series left off.  Old Hob has taken Splinter and the Turtles need to find him.  The art work told me this was a Micro Series since Dan Duncan was clearly not the artist, but the story was a bit of a surprise, until I started to read.

Review: Image TMNT #25

Last September, I reviewed a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic made by the fans. This comic was to pick up where Image left off to finish up the story and connect it to Mirage Volume 4, one of the biggest gaps in Ninja Turtle’s history that needed to be fixed.

Review: IDW TMNT #6

This week issue 6 of the IDW TMNT comics came to stores.  After recently re-reading the other issues this was great timing as I got to go straight from reviewing those into following it up with the new story.  And with how excited I was with issue five of the series, issue six could only get me more excited about IDW.

Movie Review: Foot Loose 2011

A remake of another 1980’s movie, “Footloose” is coming to the theaters this month.  I’ve had the chance to get a sneak peek at this movie, and wanted to share my thoughts.  While I know I saw the original version of this movie at some point in my life, it’s not something fresh on my mind so this review is about the new film only.  A film that I felt they did really good on.

Review: Casey Jones Fan Movie

This week a new fan movie premiered on the internet called “Casey Jones” by Polaris Banks and is based off of Casey Jones from Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  This has been a project in the works for a few years as the trailer had been online for awhile.  I got the chance to watch it the night the movie was up for public viewing and found myself glued to it until the very end.

Review "Image TMNT #24"

In 2000, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came to it’s first real stand still where there was nothing new for the fans, as the bad news hit everyone the Image Comics were ending at issue #23.  At this time, Image was the only source of new stories for the Turtles, written by Gary Carlson, with artwork by Frank Fosco.
